Since its establishment in 1966, WorldSkills Korea had strived for the promotion of skills competition

Republic of Korea has participated in WorldSkills since 1967, regularly sending competitors to take part in the WorldSkills Competition so far.

Ministry of Employment and Labour(MOEL) is the authority for skills competitions; WorldSkills Korea is in charge of forming policy of skills competitions and its implemntation. Currently, Global Institute for Transferring Skills(GIFTS), an affiliated organization of Human Resources Development Service of Korea(HRDKorea), manages WorldSkills Korea.

WorldSkills Korea host domestic skills competitions at the local and the national levels in an attempt to discover excellent craftsmen and improve their skill level. Our skilled youths produced by these domestic competition contribute to raising the national image and strengthening the national competitiveness in the national competition. Such efforts enabled our youths to be the medal champion (totalling 19 times in the latest WorldSkills competition) in the 45th WorldSkills Competition in Kazan, Russia
