Overview / About us

Purpose

  • To support global skills development focusing on skills competition
  • To share Korea’s know-how on planning, managing on skills competition system, skill management

Background

  • For years, GIFTS of HRDKorea has been sharing our knowledge and working with countries that greatly need support on skills competition. Starting from 2014, WorldSkills Korea started supporting Namibian competitors and experts in 2014. As HRDKorea started UNESCO-BEAR project since 2015, GIFTS supported and provided training to Namibian competitors for WorldSkills Sao Paulo 2015. Added to that, Experts from WorldSkills Korea helped out planning managing and delivering the first national skills competition in Namibia in 2016, which was a great opportunity for skills and information exchange to each other.

In January 29th 2018, WorldSkills Korea and WorldSkills International(WSI) signed Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) and established the world 1st WorldSkills International Capacity Building Centre in GIFTS of HRDKorea to keep supporting global skills development, following WorldSkills Korea’s continuous efforts.
